Submitted By: Valerie Handelsman:I must say that I am not thrilled with the publication. First, the fact that it comes out only 6 times a year; my preference would be to see something once a month. Secondly, I found it to be less inspiring then expected;on the verge of boring. Perhaps some interviews with best selling writers to get their inner perspective; or a section that compares a book with the movie. I would like to see an array of genres; children's, science fiction, and even critiques on top non fiction books. A few academics thrown in is always beneficial to the writer. I must tell you that reading the life story of an unknown author is not interesting to me unless the person has done something so outstanding it would knock us all down.
I noticed your price is coming down. This is more in line with what it should be.

The magazine is not the type of magazine you would read in front of a fireplace on a stormy night. Instead it is the type of magazine you read over and over for the valuable information it contains. I believe everyone has at least one story in them; this information helps you understand how to best put that story into understandable thoughts and words. I don't read a lot of magazines but this is one I devour. 5.0

As a retired ole relic from an earlier generation, I found that I had a considerable amount of time on my hands. Two years ago, I decided to set down for my grandchildren a memoir of my life. Not knowing where to go, I found a copy of Writers Digest at the local Wally World. Purchasing this Magazine literally changed my life. From guides to various Genres to tips on punctuation and spelling, to articles and Biographies by noted authors, Writers Digest is complete. I began relying on it to instill a sense of urgency into my writing. Overcoming "Writers Block" was enhanced by tips and strategies at my fingertips. Merely opening up the Magazine became a joy.
