Model Railroader
Submitted By: Cheryl Harvey:My son really enjoys Model Railroader Magazine. He has received it off and on for 15 years. The pictures are great and show such great detail. He has gotten a lot of ideas from the articles and reads every one from cover to cover. He is now getting ready to start a new project with my grandson. What a great thing to pass on and Model Railroader will be a big part of it. 5.0

It was sent as a gift to my grandson who can't wait for its arrival and who has put its many ideas to good use. Model Railroader magazine is a comprehensive and rich presentation of the hobby; a very positive outlet for his creative energies. Nice work. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: Brian Tomey:I truly enjoy Model Railroader magazine. They always have topics that interest me and are always very helpful. I especially like the DCC topics section since I am somewhat challenged in that area. The featured layouts are great as are the photos. If you are interested in model trains, I highly recommend this magazine. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: Kris Katava:I purchase Model Railroader magazine for my fiancé. He has been reading this magazine for several years and I thought this would be a nice gift for him for Christmas last year. I rate this magazine as being very informative for the model railroad enthusiast. We have saved our back issues and still go back to them for information or ideas on track layout or scenery. The pictures always show a lot of detail for us to work into our own ideas for our train modules. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: Jim Adcox:I started reading Model Railroader Magazine in 1976 when during a school trip to the library I found a copy of the magazine. I can still remember the pictures and articles to this day that influenced me to become a Model Railroader. Since then the magazine has never failed to inspire me to try new projects and marvel at the work of others modelers around the country. If you like trains and have ever thought you might like this hobby try Model Railroader. You will be amazed at the level of realism, interesting state of the art equipment that is available now and the well written articles and product reviews. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: James Buchanan:Model Railroader Magazine is 'head and shoulders' above any other model railroading magazine I've seen. Whatever interest or skill level you have in this hobby, this magazine is a gold-mine of information and inspiration.
Model railroading continues to evolve using the latest technology, and this magazine covers it all. At the same time, each issue contains articles that deal with the very basics. So, whether you have been in the hobby for 50 years or just getting started, there's something for everyone every month.
The photos of other Model Railroaders' layouts are truly inspiring, and the articles tell you how you can achieve the same results on your layout. This magazine doesn't hide any 'secret' techniques. They truly enjoy the hobby themselves and want others to have as much fun with it as they do. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: Harry W:Modelrailroader magazine is highly Overated! If you want to waste a lot of time looking at pictures of high priced layouts with a few ads by well heeled advertisers then this is your magazine. Just a few month's ago there were many small vendors advertising in this magazine, but no more. 3.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: Chris Layton:Model Railroader magazine is perfect for the novice or, as in my case, the returning hobbyist to the world of model railroading. Covers HO and N scales very well with great tips for basic layouts as well as more advanced scenic structures and modeling. With DCC well within most budgets, simple explanations of operations how-to and principles are good reading. I recommend this magazine as a must for all model railroad enthusiasts. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: David Staggs:I have been ordering Model Railroader Magazine for several years. I am 17 years old and working on my first train set. Model Railroader has helped me with ideas for landscaping and kit bashing structures together. Near my house is a Railroading club I try to go to every now and then. The club members actually gave me my first subscription order form for Model Railroader. I will always subscribe to Model Railroader. 5.0

Model Railroader
Submitted By: edpet:25 Cent Reefer
I stood entranced in the pouring rain, staring at the model train ciircling the window of the hobby shop. It was 1940 and I had started a new job, had a new wife and a world war was loming. There was little money for a new hobby but I had found a kit, card-stock of a reefer, two printed sides and ends, 4 milled pieces, a roof, floor and ends, all for the magnicent price of 25 cents.
They were the strt of a lifetime of model trains and now at 91 and in the confines of a nursing home, I look back on my last layout of 300 freight and passenger cars and 13 engines, steam deisel, in an exclusive room, 25' by 20' with bridges, stations and factories. All gone now to 4 children and held in storage for some interest. I can't think of a better inheritance for my 4-year-old Great Grandson than some back-issues of 1940-50 of Model Railroader magazines and some of the 25 cent reefers I so carefully assembled 65 years ago. 5.0
