Dwell Magazine is done in such a great way (besides being designed so beautifully) in mixing that cold modern stuff with the warmer modern stuff. Also, they really search for modern where it lives, so every article isn't about a house in LA or in NY. There are houses from all over, even down the street from me in North Carolina. 5.0

In a world that has spread itself out (too thinly), this is a magazine that will definitely lean toward the urbanscape, but doesn't alienate those outside the cores. It even highlight homes with families in mind as well.
Individual issues are often focused on either geographic or utility-related themes, thus keeping a library mandatory for future reference. The photography is superb. If you are tired of design magazines that seem to be talking specifically to designers, this is a great, reasonably priced alternative for people who simply appreciate great design. Highly recommended. 5.0
