American Heritage
Submitted By: Susan Davis:American Heritage Magazine has wonderful pictures and articles to keep our kids interest. We believe that children learn more if they are interested in the subject matter. As home schooling parents of eight children from 2-17, much of their learning has been unconventional, magazines can be a great part of this. 5.0

Submitted By: Ken Mitchell:American Heritage Magazine is a great magazine at a fantastic price. I just added two areas to my teaching certification so I went looking for something that touches social science, general science, natural science, and history. American Heritage delivered on all expectations. You cannot just teach out of a text book and hold a student' attention, this source helps me bring in enough color commentary to spark discussions that ensure learning. 5.0

Every issue of American Heritage magazine presents interesting yet little known stories about our nation's history. Was Mary Todd Lincoln really mad? What was life really like during the Eisenhower years? For stories like these, read American Heritage. 5.0

It is not directed to the academic, but to the 'armchair' historian and anyone intrigued by America's past. 4.0

There are also articles featuring travel advice for historically relevant vacation spots. Always very interesting and loaded with great information, American Heritage is careful not to get bogged down in the useless fluff that sometimes plagues other history magazines. A great read! 5.0

American Heritage
Submitted By: Wayne Kewitsch:American Heritage Magazine is not your run of the mill history magazine. It takes diverse American historical subjects and breaks them down in well-written, in-depth articles. I always learn something new with every issue. While political and other typical subjects you remember from high school history are covered, it also covers cultural subjects. One of my favorite recent topics was the history of firefighting in the United States, from Ben Franklin and insurance companies to today's professionals. 5.0

American Heritage
Submitted By: Betsy Baranski:I love American Heritage magazine. It’s like getting a museum in your mailbox. The articles cover every aspect of America history in the most interesting way, by talking about one thing at a time. In an article about, say, the rebuilding of a particular city after a war or natural disaster, you get this fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of people at that time, plus pieces of the overall historical context of the event. I've learned so much about the history of our country this way. I was interested in certain periods and events, but, like most people, there were other topics that just bored me to tears. There have been articles in the magazine that were so intriguing, addressing that one small aspect, that I got a lot of information about something I didn't think I was interested in. It's all relevant today in one way or another, and it's not all "ancient" history, either. I just read an article about a detailed model of the world trade center by the original architectural team. It was restored in D.C. and displayed in the NYC skyscraper museum. Anyway, there is nothing boring or dry about the history in this magazine. It's all alive and fascinating! 5.0

Submitted By: Andrea Howard:American Heritage is a wonderful magazine which has been in publication in various forms for many years. It is spellbinding reading for history buffs and casual readers, as well. The articles are full of interesting information in a very readable form. American Heritage magazine would be excellent for a student studying American History, as it fleshes out the bones of what many courses contain in high school. I highly recommend this publication. 5.0

American Heritage
Submitted By: Kathy Wachstein:I had never heard of this magazine before I subscribed to it but it looked interesting and thought "why not!" Well after reading over the first issue, I can't wait for the next month’s and have even sent a subscription to my son. If you love America, nostalgia and interesting articles and photos of things American present, past and future then this is the magazine subscription for you. Being a baby boomer myself, the issue dedicated to baby boomers was like opening a family album to the past and brought back many happy memories. For those who are younger, seeing and reading about your country whether from another time or now, you will still get an eye and earful. I highly recommend this magazine and the fact that it only comes bi-monthly, gives everyone plenty of time to read it from beginning to end. 5.0
