[ASTRONOMY SUBSCRIPTION] - Featured review submitted by: John MacKay: Astronomy Magazine is an excellent source of information for anyone with an interest in the skies. Each issue contains several well-written cover stories on a variety of subjects from the physics of black holes to updates from the Mars Rovers. These articles often feature striking illustrations or photography. Additionally, every issue has a variety of short articles explaining how to view new targets in the night sky. These include descriptions of how to locate (and what you can expect to see) stars/planets/clusters/galaxies using binoculars or telescopes. Astronomy is also a good source for technical advice. There are regularly articles on how to 'better' operate and understand the many features available on telescopes. If you are getting into amateur astronomy or just want to see great images and read stories about the cosmos this is the magazine for you.

Astronomy Magazine is my favorite all-time magazine. It always contains articles that pique my interest. Many of the articles are written on a level that is easy to understand so that even a layman such as I can marvel at the vast and intriguing universe that God has created. I marvel at the beautiful pictures taken by professional and amateur alike. The up-to-date maps and information on upcoming events in the heavens is a valuable asset to the amateur. I used to get my co-workers used copy, but now I am looking forward to getting my own before the events actually occur.

Astronomy Magazine is a great magazine for any Astronomy buff. It provides beautiful pictures and excellent articles of great interest. Astronomy magazine has up to date articles about recent discoveries in the space sciences. Astronomy magazine is the best source of news of what is happening in the field of Astronomy for the layman. It has well written articles in many categories of research that are being pursued on the new and best telescopes and other instruments. Also, you can find many leads as to what is available on-line.

Astronomy magazine is a clear and thoughtful look at far reaching ideas and issues. It explains new and complex theories in a way that someone without technical or scientific expertise can read and understand.

I have a casual interest in science and especially find Astronomy Magazine interesting, but do not have the science background to always fully understand things. I did my best to avoid science courses (which is why I am an attorney today). The best thing about this magazine is that it is a fascinating for both the scientist and the lay person. The articles are in-depth but understandable. The material will take you away from your every day problems and give you a chance to think about the universe in a deeper and sophisticated manner. I would definitely recommend this magazine to anyone with even the slightest interest in the universe around them.

My husband and I enjoy Astronomy magazine because it's so full of up-to-date happenings and has great photos of everything that is going on in the world of Astronomy. He knows much more about the subject than I do but we both find things that interest us and articles are written so that both of us are happy. I am able to understand and learn from them yet they are meaty enough for him as well. Great magazine!

I picked up Astronomy Magazine because it always seems to answer such great questions and covers interesting topics. Educating the young and old in how the universe works is much better than the ad filled junk magazines that fill mailboxes every day.

I bought an Astronomy magazine subscription as a gift for my father-in-law. He has enjoyed it so much we bought another subscription for him this past Christmas. It has some great photography and some very interesting articles. This is the best price I have found anywhere and I will definitely be shopping here for more great magazines.

If you are a beginning or a seasoned planet and star gazer looking to follow the night sky, then Astronomy magazine will guide you in a picturesque, easy to follow, and informative way each month.

Not quite as technical as Sky and Telescope, Astronomy is good for beginner to intermediate amateur astronomers. Astronomy Magazines included star charts are superior to Sky and Telescope and are much easier to read.

Astronomy Magazine is a most excellent magazine for anyone with interest in the world outside "our world". Not only does it contain good, easy to read, detailed articles about astronomical topics but it also includes plenty of "beginner" sections including product reviews, buying guides, what to look for in the sky each month, etc... You don't have to own a telescope even to enjoy or benefit from such a magazine as the pictures included each month are fantastic and also guides to what can be seen with binoculars each month are included. Subscribers also get free online time on Astronomy.com’s premium sections which include live links to telescopes situated in the Canary Islands so you get to see great stuff even a nice amateur scope would not likely show you. In short, this magazine is great and well worth the subscription cost.

I messed up and let my last subscription expire. I missed a couple of issues that I am sure were very good. Astronomy Magazine is a great magazine, especially for someone that needs a reminder as to what is in the sky the next month. It helps me plan other activities so I don't miss out on a good viewing time. The monthly foldout of what is happening and when is the best. Overall the articles are good, though I don't read them all. I highly recommend this for someone just starting out. It will be an invaluable tool to get started with minimal frustration and you will grow to use more and more of the articles.

I look forward to reading each new issue of Astronomy magazine. The articles are comprehensive and well-written, easily understood by those who view star-gazing as just a hobby, but in-depth enough for folks with a stronger grasp of the science. Even my young sons look forward to flipping through the pages and it's ignited in them an interest in space that I can't wait to foster!

I subscribed to Astronomy magazine for one of my husband's birthday presents and he is absolutely beside himself to receive his first issue. I don't subscribe every year because sometimes I can't afford it, but this year was a special year, his 50th birthday. Thanks Astronomy for publishing a quality magazine, it's my husband's favorite and it keeps him entertained literally for hours.

Astronomy Magazine is a wonderful magazine for learning all about our universe. Learn about current things happening in the sky, learn about how to pick out the best telescope for you, and read wonderful articles with expert science reporting. Astronomy magazine is a fine publication for the person interested in learning about the wonders of the observable universe. The publication also features articles on cosmology that is written with the lay person in mind. The magazine is lavishly illustrated to help with your understanding of some of the more complex issues. There is a gallery of fine photos by the readers of Astronomy, and a section featuring product reviews. I can highly recommend Astronomy for the casual observer or the seasoned professional.
