Crochet World
Submitted By: Gail:Crochet World has changed a lot since the last time i had a subscription. That was about 7 or 8 years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't like the changes. For one, the book used to be small and seemed packed full of interesting crochet patterns. Now it is rediculously thin, (like a magazine you might get for free somewhere) and the patterns were not nearly as plentiful. I might have been able to get over both of these issues for how much i love crochet if it hadn't been for the true absurdity of some of their patterns. One example was of a masqurade type crocheted mask for a grown woman. Why not a cute mask for a little one? It was completely rediculuos looking. They seem to be trying to be more "with it" or something. I find few children's type pattern which for me is a real disappointment. An as one added irritation i have that the December issue said nothing about celebrating Christmas. The winning afghan was celebrating Hannakah, which is there progative to do but why not a bone's throw for christmas. They seemed more connected with their readers years ago and now are trying (stupidly if you ask me) to be another trendy magazine. I am not interesting in crocheting a bikini top for myself. But if you're really into masqurade masks and bikini tops to crochet then by all means, order this magaizine. 2.0
