1000 years of MINNESOTA history is being artfully portrayed on many walls of Wadena, hopefully to be complete in time for the Sesquicentennial in 2008.
The goals are: To cause tourism, To show the importance and power of art and artists as an economic engine, To communicate the power of diversity and the stupidity of ethnic prejudice and discrimination.
Thirty of the planned sixty pieces are finished. This array is already the world's largest public art picture puzzle. It stands as the nations largest open history gallery; a place where all Minnesotans can come to walk through pages of their own family history.
Walking tour guides are available from several local merchants; The Village Coffeehouse, Lyles Shoes, Ben Franklin, Borealis Books and The Chamber office.
